A Note from Principal Coleman:

April 4, 2024.

Dear Heritage Academy Heroes & Families,

AASA State Testing is here!

As you may know, AASA testing for the Arizona Department of Education begins in April, and we are confident that our students will perform to the best of their ability with the right support systems in place.

Testing Tips & Reminders: Please keep in mind the following tips to help support your child through this testing period and make sure they’re prepared:

  • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep before each testing day.
  • Start their day by encouraging a healthy breakfast.
  • Consider providing personalized notes of encouragement to your child.
  • Include brain breaks or relaxation time after testing or on the weekends.
  • Be on time and be in school on testing days.

Being present in school is the best way to support your scholar. We know scholars, who are in school and engaged in their learning are more likely to succeed. Active student participation coupled with parental involvement and dedicated educators will ensure that all of our scholars are well on their way to academic success.

State testing began last week for grades 3 & 5 in the areas of Reading Fluency & Science, respectively. Grades 3-7 will be testing in the areas of Writing, Reading, and Math next week, April 8 – 11. All testing will be completed on Chromebooks.

Mark your calendars for Big Truck Night coming to our school on Thursday, April 25th from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Invite your friends and family to come see our campus on this day. We will have a Boom Lift, Construction Truck, Fire Truck, Fancy Cars, and a Police Vehicle. We’ll also have a blow up Bouncy House/Obstacle Course for children to enjoy themselves and more! All are welcome!

Contact Information Request: The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is putting together a school directory that you will be able to use to communicate with other students’ parents and assist with organizing PTO events. This directory will include student names, parent names, phone numbers, and emails. If you are interested, please fill out this Google form. Thank you!
